Hi Everyone reading this forum who comes from Bukit Lawang or who has visited BL in the past and has a great love and fondness like I have.
In March this year Becky and 15 volunteers from Jersey visited Bukit Lawang to build a two storey medical centre. This had been Becky's dream for a ong time and she had begun with a free clinic not far from Nora's Homestay for all the refugees of the flood of Nov 2003.
Now was the time to build the clinic and Becky and her volunteers stayed for 3 weeks and got everything moving.
Well, the building of the clinic is off to a good start and Is (as my understanding goes), is in control of seeing the project through to the end.

Whilst in BL Becky's helpers were not just happy with building the clinic- during their spare time they added railings to the new bridge that was being built when I visited BL from 21st Sept till 26th Oct 2006.
And then they did the most amazing thing- they completely remade the bridge that links Bukit Lawang Indah, Yusman, Sibayak with the other side of the river. Such a feat and the bridge looks fantastic now.
Here is the link to Sue Gillespie- one of the volunteer's photos. She posted the link on Indahnesia.com another travel forum I frequent from time to time. Will take just a few seconds to download because I have used a tiny url so it will be not break.
