Link to more pictures of Bukit Lawang and other areas visited while based there, pre and post flood. Not sure this works but if you copy following link and paste into browser it seems to function fine for me.

Was really good to see pictures, particularly of people I meet back in 2000 to see they're all OK, Kelvin was one of the guides who came with us on our trek. Main guide was his cousin Tomas - anyone know if he's still in Bukit Lawang?
There was also an Australian woman who was living near the main village with her 2 children. Anyone know if they're still around?

Nice to see that people are still getting there after the floods and the orangutans are as great as ever!

Hi Sophie,
If you mean the Australian woman who owns Jungle Inn with her Indonesian husband, they are now living in Melbourne Australia now.
Jungle Inn still exists and I hope to spend a night or two there when I return in September this year. Didn't get a chance to stay there last visit. Spent my time at Eco Lodge and a new homestay Nora's built after the flood at Nora's original home. see my photos. I just love it there.
If you would like to email me with a list of people you would like me to check on, I would be happy to do so.
My email is [email protected]
I spent 19 days in Bukit Lawang in Jan/Feb 2005 and made lots of new friends whom I will revisit this year.
There is a Mentari mobile phone tower near the village now so most guides have mobile phones and I am in contact with quite a few of the guys in my photos.

A correction.
The woman who owned the Jungle Inn doesn't live in Melbourne. I am pretty sure she lives in NSW.

I think Tomas has gone somewhere with a girl, overseas, but I might be wrong.

Thanks for the photos. I hope to go back there one day. I stayed for a long time last year.
